What is Yuhmbox and how will it help me?

Yuhmbox is a meal delivery service providing healthy and balanced dinners for the whole family to share. Yuhmbox was started by two moms with the mission to create a dinner solution that provides convenience without compromise. Your meals are prepared fresh each day with local, organic ingredients and delivered to you in time for dinner.

You gain back some precious time to enjoy with your family, take that gym class or just relax!

How does a Yuhmbox subscription work?

Yuhmbox subscriptions are designed to take the pain out of ordering and remembering to order your weekday dinners.

  • When you subscribe, you select your Yuhmbox days, meal preference (meat or vegetarian) and your serving size.
  • Based on this information, we send you an email each week highlighting the details about your dinners and a link to switch your day or skip the week altogether.
  • On your Yuhmbox day, chefs prepare your dinner from scratch, chill the food and pack it in eco-friendly, microwave safe containers in an insulated bag with an ice pack.
  • Our delivery team brings the bag to your pickup location between 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Pick up the dinner, get home and just heat and serve.
  • Reuse or return the insulated bag and the ice pack, when convenient.

Do I have to get a dinner each day of the week?

Not at all. Yuhmbox is made to work with your schedule. We prepare dinner from Monday to Thursday. You can select as many days as you like. Additionally, each week you have the option to change your default day, add or remove days, skip the entire week or put the subscription on hold when traveling.

Which pick up locations do you serve?

We are continuously adding to our pick up locations. You can find a growing list of our pick up locations here.

However, if you don’t see your preferred location on the list and would like to get Yuhmbox at your child’s school or your office please contact us on the form here and let us know.

What kind of food should I expect?

We cook a different menu each day with organic, meat and vegetarian options. We include different cuisines like Italian, Mexican, American, Indian, Thai as well as Asian inspired meals. Checkout what we are cooking next week here and a sample menu here.

What does a typical Yuhmbox dinner look like?

A Yuhmbox dinner is a complete meal designed to be healthy and balanced. A typical Yuhmbox bag is composed of 3 portions - a main course and 2 sides.

A lot of thought goes into designing these meals ensuring that they have the right portions of meat, grains and vegetables to provide the right amount of protein, carbohydrates and vitamins.

Can I see the ingredients for my dinners?

We believe in full transparency when it comes to what goes into your meals. All ingredients are listed on the dinner boxes, with nothing hidden. 

How are the menus for each week selected?

We have over a 100 different menus at Yuhmbox and we are constantly adding new menus. We love to hear from customers and consider all the feedback we receive to tweak our menus and dishes. When on a Yuhmbox subscription you will be delighted with varying cuisines, dishes and ingredients and won't see the same menu repeat for at least 6-8 weeks.

How and where is your food prepared?

Organic groceries are sourced multiple times in a week to ensure freshness. Our chefs prepare the dinners from scratch each morning in our commercial kitchen. We use stainless steel equipment for cooking and storage. Nothing is prepped in advance to ensure the freshest of meals. The food is then chilled and packaged for delivery with ice-packs. Food safety is a top priority and our kitchens are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. Our dinners are prepared in a commercial kitchen and our facility is inspected periodically and certified by the department of health and environment.

What prep work is required once I pick up my dinner?

Sometimes, a small amount of prep work is required like tossing the salad with dressing or assembling tacos.

Most of the time, there is no prep involved, you can just heat and eat. Dinner comes in compostable containers made of plant fiber with no plastic. These are microwave safe. We include all reheating instructions on the box.

What time is the dinner delivered?

The dinner is usually delivered between 3:00 p.m and 5:00 p.m. Once your dinner has been delivered to your pick up location, you will get an email notification.

What happens if I am traveling or have dinner plans on my selected day?

You can skip any week and put the subscription on hold when you are traveling or have other plans. We appreciate 24 hours notice.

How can I return my bag?

We aspire to be a low/zero waste company. You are welcome to keep your bags and reuse them.

We provide containers at your pickup location for you to return your bags and ice packs. We wash and reuse the bags.

How are your dinners priced as compared to other options out there?

We charge $15 for a singles dinner, $25 for couples and $40 for a family of 4.

We don't charge any fee on top of this - no service charge, no subscription or delivery fee, no cancelation or "skip the week" fee. Not even sales tax. All you pay is the price of the dinner. When compared to restaurant food along with delivery services, it is cheaper as well as more healthy. If you prepare the food yourself, your organic grocery bill alone will be almost same as the price of our food.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you’d like to discontinue our service or change your subscription, please use the option and send us a message from Your Account or just email us at contact@yuhmbox.com. There are no cancellation fees.

Please do keep in mind you can always keep your subscription on hold to restart it at a later time.

I love Yuhmbox, how do I get my friends to try it?

Ask your friends to sign up here. At the checkout ask them to put your name in the ‘Referred By’ section. They will receive their first couple meal free and you will get $25 credit in your account. You can review our referral policy here.
